It’s time to welcome back our blog “The Booby Trap”.

The Booby Trap blog was created to give us all tips and advice on everything we need to know about Lingerie. For many years now, we have been fitting our wonderful customers into proper fitted Lingerie. As a customer, how do you know when you are wearing the wrong bra and when is it the right time to purchase a new one. In this blog we’ll discuss why it’s so important to get a professional fitting and what is the difference between a good fitting bra and a poorly fitting bra.

Wearing the wrong size bra is not only uncomfortable, but also it can cause a range of health problems. Wearing the wrong size bra can cause:

  • Back ache 
  • Shoulder ache
  • Skin irritation caused by straps digging in
  • Neck ache 
  • Headaches 
  • Discomfort 
  • Bad posture 
  • Irreversible damage to ligaments causing breast pain and sagging

Research shows that 80% of women are wearing a poorly fitting bra. See below images of the lady on the left wearing the proper fitting bra and the lady on the right wearing the wrong fitting bra.

There are many advantages to wearing a properly fitting bra such as:

  • Provide you with a sense of confidence and help to improve your body posture by supporting the back of the body. 
  • Help relieve neck, shoulder, back and breast pain 
  • Improve the appearance of your clothes

You should especially go for a fitting if you’ve:

  • Gained weight 
  • Lost weight 
  • Had a baby 
  • Had breast related surgery 
  • Not been fitted in over 6 months

At Belle Femme, we provide our customers with an expert and unique fitting service without the use of the traditional tape measure.

Consider the fact that the body is elastic, whereas a tape measure is static. A tape measure cannot measure volume, so it is essential that anyone advising women on wearing the correct fitting bra learns how to assess and fit – as we do – without a tape measure

Hope you enjoy reading our blog and we hope to see you in the shop soon.
